SEAMAN CHURCH OF CHRIST
Education/Discipleship:
We believe the Chuch is here to train and equip. "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you (Mt. 28:19-20)."
As people "committed to our Savior," we offer a variety of opportunities to learn more about God and faith and to go deeper into His Word. Everyone is welcome to join us as we learn and grow together. Take a look below at the various programs, special events, and opportunities available for you to become involved. Also check out the upcoming events page for information about things going on right now!
Worship Services:
Our primary time of education, discipleship, and fellowship is, naturally, the Sunday services of the Church. Our sermon time in particular, as well as our time of music, prayer, communion, and offering, is all designed to teach us and help us grow in our faith. See the What to Expect Page here for more information about the individual elements of our services. Current Worship Service times include:
Sunday AM Service - 10:30-11:45am
Sunday PM Service - 6:30-7:30pm
Sunday School
We offer Sunday School for all ages each Sunday morning from 9:30-10:30. Current classes include:
Beginners (Preschool)
Primary Elementary (Grades K-2)
Upper Elementary (Grades 3-5)
Junior High (Grades 6-8)
High School (Grades 9-12)
Adults
There are two classes for adults; the main class that uses the Standard Lesson Commentary and material and an elective class that covers various topics.
All classes meet in the sanctuary at 9:30 for a time of worship through music an prayer together. When classes are dismissed to assemble, the adult class remains in the sanctuary while the youth and young adult classes meet in the lower level. Our greeters will be happy to help if you have any questions, or feel free to contact us in advance.
Midweek BIble Study:
In addition to our Sunday Services, we also offer a midweek time of Prayer and Bible Study, which is open to anyone who would like to attend. This group meets on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:00pm. The group is interactive and discussion oriented as we seek to learn together to reach people in our everyday lives and conversations. Contact us for more info.
Church Library:
The church library, located on the upper level of the building, is open to anyone. There is a sign-out sheet available to take books home for personal use. The library includes Bibles, commentaries, Bible Studies, children's materials, and books on various Christian topics such as apologetics, church leadership, parenting, Christian living, and more. The library also accepts donations of new and used Christian literature.
Music Ministry:
Music is an instrumental part of our discipleship and worship. In addition to the regular elements of our Sunday services, we provide a variety of ways for those interested in music to participate. The church choir is open to all voices and sings a special for the first am service of each month, and occasionally provides special music at other times during the year. Soloists and small groups are encouraged to provide special music as well, either during the am or pm services. Everyone is welcome to join us on the third Sunday of each month when we visit at Oakview Retirement Home. For more info on how you can become involved in the music ministry, contact us.
Special Events:
In addition to our regular programs, our planning committee is always hard at work putting together special events throughout the year with an emphasis on education, discipleship, and fellowship for all of us. Some of these in the past have included:
Carry-in Fellowship meals
Messianic Passover service
Various Revivals and Seminars
Special Guest Speakers/Presenters during Sunday services
Participation in the P2P Family Camp
Thanksgiving Service of Sharing
Christmas Candlelight Service
New Years Eve Party
Harvest Party
Vacation Bible School
